Quick Tow San Antonio dispatcher on the phone with a customer beside a parked flatbed rollback at dusk

How much does a tow cost in San Antonio?

How much does a tow cost in San Antonio?

The operator taking your job confirms the full price, hookup plus mileage, before the truck rolls. San Antonio City Code 19-402 caps non-consent tows at $177 for vehicles under 10,000 lb, $196 up to 24,999 lb, and $602 for heavier units, with daily storage at $21.03 plus tax. Statewide, TDLR sets the maximum at $272 / $380 / $489 under 16 TAC 86.455. San Antonio's city rate runs below the state cap. Roadside work such as jumps, tire changes, lockouts, and fuel is priced by the operator on the call. Heavy-duty, RV, long-distance, and specialty transport are priced per job.

Do you charge extra at night, weekends, or holidays?

Calls are taken around the clock. Ask the operator whether any night, weekend, or holiday charge applies, and get the full price confirmed before the truck rolls.

What payment methods do you accept?

The operator taking the job confirms payment methods before rolling. Under San Antonio City Code 19-402, the impound facility must accept e-check, debit, and credit, not only cash.

Do you work with insurance or motor clubs?

If you have roadside coverage through an insurer or motor club, call them first so the tow is billed under that plan. Quick Tow San Antonio is a dispatch and referral line, not a motor-club contractor. If you do not have coverage, call (210) 791-9982 and a licensed operator quotes the job before rolling.

How fast can you get to me?

How fast can you get to me?

It depends on where you are, what traffic is doing, and which operator is closest when you call. Nobody can honestly promise a number before knowing your location. Call and the operator taking the job can give you an arrival estimate for where you actually are, not a script.

What areas do you cover?

We cover the whole San Antonio metro - downtown and the I-35/I-10/I-37 loop, Stone Oak and the US-281 corridor, the Medical Center, Loop 410 and Loop 1604, the West Side, the South Side and the Missions, JBSA-Lackland and JBSA-Randolph, plus New Braunfels, Boerne, and Seguin. Base-gate coordination at JBSA is handled by the operator covering that call.

Do you respond to freeways?

Yes. I-35, I-10, I-37, Loop 410, Loop 1604, US-281, and US-90 - we cover every San Antonio highway. If law enforcement is directing the scene, the tow runs under their process. For private calls on freeway shoulders, we dispatch directly.

What if I get stuck at a low-water crossing during a storm?

Do not drive into moving water. Bexar County is part of Flash Flood Alley, and low-water crossings can rise fast during heavy rain. If your vehicle stalls in a crossing, get to high ground first and call once you and everyone with you is safe. Coverage includes the whole metro out to New Braunfels, Boerne, and Seguin.

Which tow truck does my car need?

Flatbed or wheel-lift - which does my car need?

AWD, 4WD, and all EVs must go flatbed - no exceptions. Wheel-lift works fine for standard FWD or RWD sedans and most trucks. Lowered, damaged, or luxury vehicles should go flatbed for safety. Tell us year/make/model when you call and we route the right truck.

Can you tow my Tesla or EV?

Yes. Every EV needs a flatbed - the drive motors stay engaged with the wheels. We connect you with a licensed operator who can move Teslas, Rivians, Mustang Mach-Es, Lucids, and Hummer EVs. If the battery is completely dead and the transport mode will not engage, the operator confirms how they will move the vehicle before hooking up.

Do you tow motorcycles and RVs?

Yes. Motorcycles get low-deck flatbeds with soft straps. Class A, B, C motorhomes and fifth-wheels are handled with heavy wreckers. We tell you on the phone what truck is coming.

Can you do long-distance tows out of San Antonio?

Yes. Common routes from San Antonio: Austin, Houston, Corpus Christi, the Rio Grande Valley, and points along I-35 and I-10. Long-distance runs are priced by distance and vehicle. Scheduled pickups are preferred so the operator can route a driver efficiently.

Do you offer roadside help besides towing?

Can you jump-start my car?

Yes. Licensed operators we connect you with carry jump equipment. If the battery is the only issue, you can usually drive away after the jump. If the alternator or battery is bad, the driver tells you honestly and can tow from the same call.

Will you change a flat tire for me?

Yes. The operator taking the job brings the tools and swaps the spare if it is safe to do so. On a freeway, a short tow to a safe lot is often the safer option.

Do you deliver fuel?

Yes. Operators can bring gas or diesel to get you to the nearest station. The operator confirms the service call and fuel cost before rolling.

Can you unlock my car?

Yes for most standard vehicles. Some newer models with transponder keys require a locksmith or dealer; we tell you on the phone whether we can help or you need a specialist.

Will my insurance cover the tow after an accident?

Will my insurance cover the tow after an accident?

Ask your insurer what the policy covers. After the tow, the operator can give you an invoice with scene location, reason, and destination for the claim file.

Do you coordinate with SAPD and local authorities?

Yes. Accident scenes of every kind get dispatched, and if law enforcement is on scene the operator works directly with the officer on removal and destination. If SAPD orders the tow, the vehicle goes to the city's contracted impound facility, not to us.

Can you tow a vehicle to a specific body shop?

Yes. Tell dispatch the shop, dealer, or storage lot you want. The operator taking the job takes the car there, including longer hauls quoted before anyone rolls.

How does private property, HOA, and city impound towing work?

Can my HOA or apartment get a private-property agreement?

Yes. The licensed operators we connect property managers with work under written agreements with apartment complexes, homeowners associations, and retail lots across the San Antonio metro. Texas law requires posted signage at every driveway or curb cut before a private lot can tow, and apartment complexes cannot tow a car for an expired registration or inspection sticker alone. What the agreement covers beyond that is between the property and the operator.

What do I do if my car was towed from private property?

Texas law requires the tow company to provide release info to the vehicle owner. Call us with your license plate and we will help you track down which lot has it, what the release fee is, and what paperwork you need (driver's license + registration in most cases).

My car was towed by the City of San Antonio. Where do I find it?

SAPD-ordered tows go to the City of San Antonio Vehicle Impound Facility at 3625 Growdon Rd, (210) 881-8440. You can also search for your vehicle at search.autoreturn.com. Bring your certificate of title or other proof of ownership and be ready to pay tow and storage fees; an unclaimed vehicle can go to auction after 30 days.
